▌Research Interest
Thomas Meier's research focuses on the development and implementation of high-frequency solid-state spectroscopy in diamond anvil cells, in particular Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) at pressures well into the Mbar range and temperatures above 1000 K.
These techniques will be used for the investigation of high energy density materials like molecular hydrogen and nitrogen, potentially superconducting metal hydrides and high pressure geophysically relevant materials which can only be stabilised under extreme pressure and temperature conditions.
