▌Biography
Dr. Toshimori Sekine graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), and obtained DSc degree in 1979 from TIT. Worked at University of Chicago, Monash University, Australian National University, National Institute for Materials, California Institute of Technology, and Hiroshima University before joined HPSTAR Shanghai in a wide research field of experimental petrology, materials science, and shock compression science. His new book “Shock-Induced Chemistry” is available from Springer Nature.
▌Research Interest
Currently focused on shock compression experiments on Earth and planetary systems by high-velocity accelerators and high-intensity lasers. Applications to formation processes of planets, shock metamorphism in meteorites, origin of life, dynamic behaviors of materials, and shock synthesis of novel materials.
