Dr. Nakagawa received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Durham, United Kingdom, in 2010. He joined HPSTAR as a postdoctoral research fellow in September 2018. His research interests lie in the field of solid state physics involving synthesis and characterization of new materials possessing a number of functionalites. He has acquired a knowledge and know-how to employ the techniques for investigating those materials under extreme conditions over the years, which involves Synchrotron X-ray/neutron powder diffraction, X-ray absorption, magnetometry, vibrational, and muSR spectroscopy and so on. His research at HPSTAR will be focused on the study of pressure-induced complex physical phenomena in strongly correlated f-electron systems.
