Title: Density waves in Cuprates -- a theoretical study

Abstract:
There is more experimental evidence that various charge density waves (CDW) observed in different cuprate families may be part of a new state with intertwined orders. Based on the well-known strongly correlated t-J model and by using a renormalized mean field theory, we obtain self-consistent solutions of a number of nearly degenerate these intertwined-order states. Besides CDW these orders could include pair density wave (PDW) and/or spin density wave (SDW). PDW is like a FFLO state with finite momentum for the pairing order but it may or may not have superconducting long range order. Spectra of one of these states without SDW will be discussed in detail and shown excellent agreement with ARPES and STS results of Cuprates. It provides a simple explanation of many novel properties like Fermi arcs, two different gaps, pseudogap, etc.
