Abstract:

In this talk, Dr. Yan will review the development in single crystal CVD diamond since 1990, and introduce the recent trendsand qualities of single crystal CVD diamond produced by various companies and institutions. Discuss various systems and design of microwave plasma CVD systems, to develop large, pure and ultra-tough single crystal CVD diamonds for high pressure research.

Biography of the Speaker:

Dr. Chih-shiue Yan was trained and practiced in space plasma and UHF radar at National Central University, Taiwan; he has been doing single crystal CVD diamond for the past 20 years in University of Alabama at Birmingham and Carnegie Institution of Washington, USA. He is the inventor of 15 patents and 20+ patent applications related to single crystal CVD diamond.
