Workshop on Frontier in High Pressure Science and Technology

A bi-laboratory workshop co-hosted by HPSTAR and State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials in Jilin University was held on June 20 – 21, 2016 in Changchun. As a coherence event for celebration of the 70th anniversary of Jilin University, the scope of the workshop is to share the latest progress in frontier high pressure research, celebrate the partnership and broaden further collaborations between the two laboratories.

Twenty seminar talks were presented including very recent achievements, challenges, and breakthroughs in high pressure scientific research and experimental techniques. Over ninety researchers and students attended the meeting.

Youhong Sun, Vice President of Jilin University, made an opening speech. He summarized the meeting purpose, and vigorously supports the cooperation of both sides.

“It’s a great opportunity to share ideas and spark collaborations between HPSTAR and State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials”, said Dr. Mao. “We get some exciting results and expect the next workshop in Changchun.”
