Prof. Alexander Soldatov will join HPSTAR as Adjunct Professor (Visiting Staff Scientist).
Following a lecture course on nanostructured carbon at high pressure given on invitation of HPSTAR director Prof. David Mao in the Fall 2017 Prof. Solatov was invited to join HPSTAR as visiting Staff scientist (Adjunct professor). He will conduct research on nanostructured materials at high pressure with focus on nano-carbon, to start a long-term collaborative effort between High-pressure spectroscopy group, LTU and HPSTAR. Prof. Soldatov will also lead a special initiative aimed at establishing collaboration between MAX IV, the world’s brightest synchrotron source, and HPSTAR via development and implementation of sample environment at extreme (p, T) conditions at different beam lines at MAX IV.
Prof. Soldatov is recipient of Shubnikov Prize for research on thermal properties of Hydrogens and low temperatures. He was Royal Society/NATO visiting scholar at University of Sussex and was awarded number of times visiting professor scholarships in Lyon and Nancy university and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
His publication record includes Science, Nano Letters, Nanoscale, PRL, PRB, etc. He is regularly invited to speak at major international conferences in the field.
Prof. Soldatov served several times as European High Pressure Research Group (EHPRG) Committee member and since 2015 he is elected member of the Executive Committee of the AIRAPT. He is a member of the Swedish Universities Reference/Advisory Group on MAX IV Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Sweden.
