XIE Kechang 谢克昌 中国工程院院士、美国工程院外籍院士

Specialized in coal chemical engineering and Strategic research in energy, Dr. Xie was elected as a Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003, and a Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering, USA in 2013, for his contributions in understanding coal molecular structure and reactivity, and his leadership in the modern clean coal conversion industry. Dr. Xie is the vice-President of the Chinese Institute of Engineering Development Strategies, Professor of Tsinghua University and Taiyuan University of Technology, and Director of the National Key Laboratory of Coal Science and Technology. SUN Chengwei 孙承纬 中国工程院院士

Prof. Sun is an expert in explosion dynamics, graduated from the Dept. of Mathematics and Mechanics of Peking University in 1963 and as a visiting scholar at Physics Dept., Washington State University, during 1982-1984. He was elected member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003. Now he serves as a professor at the Shanghai Institute of Laser Plasma and PhD student advisor at the Institute of Fluid Physics, CAEP. Prof. Sun has devoted for a long time to research on detonation and shock physics, laser irradiation effects, pulsed power technology applications and high energy density physics.  sunchengwei@hotmail.com



MAO Ho-kwang (David) 毛河光  美国科学院院士、英国皇家科学院外籍院士、中国科学院外籍院士

Dr. Ho Kwang Mao is the Director of Center for High Pressure Science and Technology Advanced Research in China, and a senior staff scientist at the Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institute for Science. With co-workers, Mao has made key discoveries in physics, chemistry, geoscience, and materials science, and in effect, added a new pressure dimension to science and technology. Mao is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences (USA) a Member of Academia Sinica (Taiwan), a Foreign Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) and a Foreign Member of Royal Society of London (UK). maohk@hpstar.ac.cn

CAI Meifeng 蔡美峰 中国工程院院士

As a world leader in rock mechanics and mining engineering, Professor Cai, is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is working at the University of Science and Technology, Beijing as the Chief Academic Leader of Mining Engineering Discipline. He is the President of the Commission on Education of International Society for Rock Mechanics. He received BE of engineering mechanics in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1967, ME of mining engineering in the University of Science and Technology, Beijing in 1981, PhD of mining rock mechanics in the University of New South Wales in 1990. caimeifeng@ustb.edu.cn




DINGWELL Donald Bruce   欧洲科学院院士、德国科学院院士、德国科学与技术院院士、加拿大皇家科学院院士

Professor Dingwell is the Chair in Mineralogy and Petrology and Director of Earth and Environment at LMU Munich, Gutenberg Research Scholar at University of Mainz. Dingwell has published over 400 papers on magmas and volcanism. He is a member of the Royal Society of Canada, Academia Europaea, Acatech and Leopoldina and bears the Bundesverdienstkreuz. DAI Jinxing 戴金星 中国科学院院士

Dr. Dai has been working in the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, Petro-China since 1972. In 1995 he was elected the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Dai focuses on coal-formed gas geology in China. He stressed that gas is the dominant hydrocarbon derived from coal measures rather than oil. Dai established a system of geochemical indices for the discrimination of natural gases from different origins, which is now widely used in gas-source correlation and the determination of target beds. He has been awarded with the Prize of Prominent Individual in the State Key Science and Technology Project (three times), and the first-class National Natural Science Prize in 1987 and 1997 (both as the first contributor). djx@petrochina.com.cn


ZHU Rixiang 朱日祥 中国科学院院士、第三世界科学院院士

As a leading expert in paleomagnetism and North China Craton, Dr. Zhu has been a professor of geophysics at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG), CAS, since 1993, the Secretary-General of Chinese Geophysical Society since 1998. He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003, member of the Third World Academy of Sciences in 2005, and Fellow of the American Geophysical Union. He was awarded Honorary Doctor degree by Université d’Orléans.  He won awards of the first-class Young Scientist of CAS in 1993, the National Young Scientist of China in 1996, and the first-class Prize of Natural Sciences of CAS in 1996. rxzhu@mail.igcas.ac.cn



LI Shuguang 李曙光 中国科学院院士

Dr. Li is a geochemist using trace elements to study ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism. From 1983 to 1986 he was conducting advanced study in the Dept. of Earth and Planet Sciences, MIT. He has been a visiting scholar in Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Germany and Hong Kong University for many times. Currently he is serving as Professor in China University of Geosciences, and was elected academician of CAS in 2003. He has published over 140 papers. He won Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005 and the Second prize of National Natural Sciences award of China in 2010. lsg@ustc.edu.cn





XU Yigang 徐义刚 中国科学院院士

Dr. Xu is the director of the Institute of Geochemistry (Guangzhou), Chinese Academy of Sciences. After many years of studying and working abroad, he returned home and made great contributions to isotopic research at the moment of basic research. He has been awarded the honorary title of the national outstanding youth fund, the Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award and the outstanding youth of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. YANG Jingsui 杨经绥 中国科学院院士

Dr. Jingsui Yang, academician of CAS, is a professor at the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing, China. He received his PhD at Dalhousie University of Canada in 1992. He has been working on ophiolites for many years, particularly on high pressure minerals in mantle rocks as well as ultra-high pressure metamorphic rocks in subduction zones on the Tibetan plateau and other orogenic belts. He is the author and co-author over 200 publications in international journals and conference proceedings. He is also a Fellow of Mineralogical Society of America and a Fellow of Geological Society of America.  yangjsui@163.com

SOBOLEV Nikolay 俄罗斯科学院院士、欧洲科学院院士、美国科学院外籍院士

Dr. Nikolay Sobolev is a research professor at the V.S. Sobolev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Novosibirsk, Russia. He has pioneered and stimulated the use of diamonds and its mineral associations as windows into the upper mantle and enhanced understanding of ultrahigh pressure metamorphism that occurs in crustal rocks. His work has demonstrated the significance of fluids in diamond formation. Sobolev is a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, European Academy, and is a foreign associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences. His contributions to science have been recognized through numerous prestigious awards, including the highest award of the International Mineralogical Association with a 2013 Medal for Excellence in Mineralogical Research. sobolev@igm.nsc.ru



NAVROTSKY Alexandra 美国科学院院士

Prof. Navrotsky is from University of California, Davis focuses on relating atomic-level structure and bonding characteristics to macroscopic thermodynamic behavior in minerals, ceramics and other complex materials by advancing high– and low-temperature reaction calorimetry as a foundational research tool. She has published more than 880 scientific papers and received many honors, including the Harry Hess Medal, the Goldschmidt Medal, and the Kingery Award. anavrotsky@ucdavis.edu

TSE John 加拿大皇家科学院院士

Dr. John Tse is a Professor of Physics and Canada Research Chair of Materials Science (Tier I) at the University of Saskatchewan. Before joining the University in 2004 he was a Principal Research Officer and Leader of the Theory and Computational Program at the National Research Council Canada. He has broad research interest including theory and experimental synchrotron and neutron techniques with applications to high pressure physics and chemistry and energy materials. He received his Ph,D from University of Western Ontario and an Earned D.Sc. from University of Saskatchewan and Elected Fellow of the Royal Society, Canada. tse@ned.sims.nrc.ca



PLANK Terry 美国科学院院士

PLANK Terry is Arthur D. Storke Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Columbia University and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Her research focuses on the volatile contents of magmas, timescales of magma ascent and eruption, recycling of material at subduction zones, and integrating petrological and seismological observations of melting regions in the mantle.  She is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union, the American Mineralogical Society, and Geochemical Society. tplank@ldeo.columbia.edu





XU Zhilei 徐志磊 中国工程院院士

As a leading defense engineering expert, who served as the deputy leader of engineering design division, chief designer of products & systems, chief engineer and counselor of science & technology committee of CAEP in 1990s, Dr. Xu was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2001. PENG Suping 彭苏萍 中国工程院院士

Born in 1959, Prof. Peng was elected in 2007 as the youngest academician in the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and is now the Chair of the Energy Resource and Mining Engineering Division of CAE. Prof. Peng is a leading expert in mining engineering, geological and geophysical prospecting.  He currently holds the post of Committee Member of the Engineering and Materials Science group Advisory Panel, Committee Member of the Coal Mine Industry and Technology Committee, and the Executive Member of China Coal Society. He also obtained the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Ministry of Education Foundation for Century Talent, and the Top-Notch Talent for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Coal Industry. psp@cumtb.edu.cn




HEMLEY Russell J 美国科学院院士、美国艺术与科学院院士、苏格兰皇家科学院外籍院士

Russell J. Hemley's research explores the behavior of materials under extreme conditions of pressure and temperature. He attended Wesleyan University (Chemistry B.A., 1977) and Harvard University (Chemistry M.A., 1980; Ph.D. 1983). After a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard (1983-84), he joined the Geophysical Laboratory as a Carnegie Fellow and later a Staff Scientist He is currently a Research Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The George Washington University and a Research Physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
