High-pressure Chemistry in nanoPores
High-pressure Chemistry in nanoPores (hcp) group of High Pressure Science & Technology Advanced Research (HPSTAR), Shanghai, China, is now seeking international applicants for postdoctoral positions in the field of high pressure researches on mineral physics, materials science, or crystallography. The research project will focus on studying structural and chemical changes of diverse porous and layered minerals/materials under pressure and temperature conditions for geochemical/technological purposes. Depending on the assigned research topic and strength of the candidate, there will be opportunities to work abroad for extended time.
Qualifications: Ph.D in geoscience, materials science, crystallography or a related field is required. Applicants are expected to be familiar with high pressure and synchrotron technigues such as diamond anvil cells and usage of diffraction, scattering, or spectroscopy beamlines. Successful candidates are expected to be able to work independently and perform collaborative researches. Preference will be given for the candidate who can speak both English and Korean.
Stipend: The annual salary will depend on candidates' experience. For a first-time postdoctoral applicant, the starting salary is 200,000 RMB (~32,000 US dollars). There will be additional research and travel support for conducting experiments overseas.
The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a second year extension upon mutual agreement and funding availability. The positions are available immediately, and will remain open until filled. Application package consisting of a cover letter, curriculum vitae (including a list of publications), statement of research interests, and contact information for three references must be forwarded to Dr. Yongjae Lee (yongjaelee@hpstar.ac.cn).
